Yesterday when I was watching television I was very much impressed by an advertisement or I can also call it a documentary ad. The ad goes like this: An 8-10 year old boy returns from school with his mother with a chocolate in his hand. With the usual gestures of a mischievous he just keeps walking when he sees another poor child sitting on road with empty hands and stomach. Please understand my struggle to avoid him calling a beggar. So this school boy just crosses that guy and walks away from him for about 10 feet. Suddenly he releases his hands from his mother’s clutch and gives that chocolate to that poor boy. This is such a simple concept but has a deep thought. The chocolate is a snack or a junk food for that school boy but it’s the food for the poor.

              This week (September 27 to October 3) is celebrated as the joy of giving week. If this week really gives us the joy of giving then we can extend this to joy of giving to month or even to years.
