Face the Phrases!!

Phrases add beauty to the language. English language has a phrase for every action we do. When properly utilized, these phrases make the language more colorful. Some of the phrases and its origin are really interesting (sometimes exciting too!!). Many Biblical references are used as phrases. One such phrase is "A Judas Kiss". A Judas Kiss refers to an act of betrayal, which is disguised as an act of friendship.

But why this phrase has this meaning?? This phrase refers to the act of Judas Iscariot's betrayal of Jesus to the authorities. He identified Jesus to the authorities by greeting him with a kiss. So when we refer an act as Judas Kiss, it refers to the act of betrayal in the name of friendship.

                             Beware of Judas Kiss!!
