Earlier, it was not an easy game against warriors last night. The batting collapse left Chennai in the dark proving why cricket is considered to be the funniest game!! Chennai was not able to capitalize on the last few overs and eventually they finished at 136 for 6 in 20 overs. This was not a competitive score and Chennai must win this game to find a place in semi-finals. We all know Chennai always comes back strong when pushed to the wall and they did it again last night. They defended this score with some spectacular catches and sharp fielding and bowling efforts.

  Not very often we would see a cricket match where both teams are happy about the result unless it is a tie. Warriors had to score 109 runs to qualify for semifinals even if they don’t win the match. Chennai Super Kings must win the match to qualify. Both these happened last night and as a result Victoria Bushrangers were shown the way out!!! The bowling effort of Chennai, especially the spinners, was splendid last night. The last over by Murali showed the world the justification for wearing the 800 number t-shirt (The world knows it anyway and it does not need justification from the genius).

  One more interesting thing which happened last night was the frustration Murali showed when Badrinath was not passing the ball quickly to him for a run out chance. That was a difficult chance but there was an opportunity. Badri tried his best but was not up to the mark on that occasion. The reason I mentioned this incident is not often we can see frustration or anger in Murali’s face in the cricket field. This clearly indicates what that match meant for Chennai Super Kings.

  Dhoni once again impressed the world with his shrewd captaincy by including one more spinner in the line up for that pitch. He was frank enough to accept that there were some week links in batting and bowling department which need to be corrected.
